Top 10 All-Time Albums

And yes, they are in order.

  1. Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
  2. Darkness On The Edge Of Town by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
  3. Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
  4. Plastic Ono Band by John Lennon
  5. Gilded Palace Of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers
  6. Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons
  7. Aquashow by Elliott Murphy
  8. Damn The Torpedos by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
  9. GP by Gram Parsons
  10. Honky Tonk Heroes by Waylon Jennings

I was looking through some lists I made back in 1976 and believe it or not only three albums were different. In 1976 I had:

Pieces Of The Sky by Emmylou Harris
Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Phases & Stages by Willie Nelson

in place of

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Darkness On The Edge Of Town by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band (released in 1978)
Damn The Torpedos by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (released in 1979)

So, as you can see only two albums released in the last 32 years have made it into my Top 10 and they came out 29 and 30 years ago. Now, to be fair, a lot of great albums have been released in the last 32 years and many of them are in my Top 200 list which I hope to post before too long.
